I may be in need of a usable injection pump for AC 185. Let me know if you have one. I'm in West Central Iowa, prefer 1 in reasonable distance if possible. Pump driveshaft has sheared. First on Roosa Master for me in 50 years. ALL 6 line bolts came out of pump head by wrench all the way. I figure that means the head seized. Pump is clean and shiny like it had recently been repaired. I'm dropping it off at pump shop Monday to find out extent of damage. . I Found a pump drive shaft, sadly the inj pump was sold last spring. It's a shed find 185 that hadn't been run in about 5 years shows 32xx hrs. Brought it home Friday. Widow said it just quit after starting on a very cold day. I Put battery in before loading and cranks nice but no smoke no try run. Found problem today. Decided it looks far too nice to junk so I'm going to see if it'll run and go from there. Tires were what I was after. 2 rear still have tits on them, seats nice, lights work, paints good after bird poo washed off, 3 pt raised while cranking. Everyone enjoy your Thanksgiving day. For the other old guys on here don't over do on the desserts.

You need to pull the injectors and have them pop tested before you try to start it with a good/repaired injection pump.

My pump can be repaired according to local pump shop. So I'll not need to buy another. Now to Finish a paying project so I can put this tractor where it's warm. Then I'll get hood, radiator, nozzles off tractor. Had a 59 mph wind gust about 6pm and went from 39 - 31 in 2 hours but not as much wind. Snow in forecast for the weekend.

Picked up my pump and 6 rebuilt injectors from pump shop. Lucky me, they accepted 6 used from an AC200 as cores. I've drained tank, lines, clean sediment bowl, new filter, I stirred tank with a long tube on air blow gun while draining. 10 gal of fire maker fluid in old jugs for now. I'll put 5 gal fresh 50/50 fuel in to get it running and see how the rest of tractor is. Now I just need to get a couple other projects done and moved so I can get this 185 in where it's warm. I've not been at farm to see if lane is drifted full, almost a 1/4 mile walk in if it is. Renter's not home, went away for 2 weeks, so can't get his loader out. ON Another topic, has anyone else recently bought the newer valve cover gasket and the set of stepped screws and spring washers for AC 301 valve cover.? It's a $140 purchase.

I bought the newer setup of valve cover bolts and spring washers for my 185 a few years ago. I used the same style valve cover gasket. Was I supposed ot use a different one?
Per the instructions I had to slightly drill out the holes in the valve cover for the new bolts. Seems like I still noticed a small leak once but later it was gone. I havne't paid a whole lot of attention to it.

I just got a pump back from the shop. First time I ever had one implode, the governor weights let loose and busted the housing. Shop found another housing, complete rebuild and calibration for $695. I thought very reasonable
