The D15 got delivered last week and spent all of Saturday afternoon removing the loader so that I can do some maintenance and clean up in the winter.  It came off better than I thought, not bad for a couple hours of work!

This will make it easier to do some maintenance and clean up.  So far, it runs beautifully - needs notihng major fortunately.
Here is what is scheduled so for the winter:  remove front axle to check for wear, replace a power steering line, wash and flush rad, new rad hoses, new wiring harness, get the charging system working, new gauges and switches, replace the ugly Ford muffler, replace seat pan and put on new cushions.  As if that wasn't enough, the fenders will get all the dents pounded out and a new gas tank will be put on (see below).

Don't worry, the gas tank will not be green when it is on the tractor.  It will get sandblasted and primed along with the fenders.  It will not get totally restored yet.  I've got enough to do for now!

Is that a factory 3 point peeking around the corner at us? You have a nice tractor on your hands.

Good find. I have a late D-15 II with 3pt as well. They are a sweet running tractor.
I see yours is also a late production with the 6 bolt front wheels.

While you're at it you might consider replacing the steering wheel. LOL

That is one neat tractor.  Congratulations on such a great find.
By the way I now have an upgraded internet connection but the installer came into my office to complete the installation and find out he is an Allis Chalmers collector and restorer.  Can't believe what a great time we had talking about tractors.  Small world.
Again, great find.
Good Luck!

The gas tank on my D-17 has a great big dent in the top of it also. I would take a green one too if it was like yours.
