The chaffer fingers on the F3 get bent in corn from cobs thrown by the chopper. I have the corn kit installed including the curtain and corrugated shield. Am I correct in that I am missing #40 on the parts diagram? If so, how does it attach if I can find one? What else should I be doing to correct this problem? Thank you!

Straw walkers need to be slid almost clear forward would be the first thing. The straw chopper has two pulleys on it and you need to be on the large one. The chopper cuttng fingers MUST be fully retracted for corn. There cannot be any opening to let the cobs get thrown forward.

Shield has 8 bolts holding it in. Better have it if you want to save the rear wall. Corrugated shield needs to be in place adjusted correctly. Everything else Doc says. Can't remember if book speakes to all the placement/ adjustment of corn kit. With curtain in place i don't know how you're throwing cobs on chaffer. Maybe the missing shield.? The curtain just clears the knifes.
