feces, from cats or other small animals. Then she(the dog) will have the craps for a couple days afterwards. What have you guys been able to do, to minimize this nasty habit?

Comes from not having enough food when very small. Keep food bowl full and will grow out of that habit. Lesson learned from a veterinarian Frend concerning a rescue.

well, I can't say what the cause is, but my 3year old German Shepherd was the Alpha male of the litter. He is now over 115 pounds. My wife has over fed him since we received him from the breeder. She does now restrict his chow a little bit due to his becoming to look like me.....but still over fed. Yet, given the chance, he will raid the kitty litter box if I don't keep the 'fence' around it. And his favorite delicacy is a good boogered up Kleenex!

Our dog is a purebred Maltese, we have had this expensive dog since weaning. 8 years old now, she is fed every evening, generally chicken and sweet potatoes. Some mornings she gets commercial dry food.

wife has two small couch dogs.. leaves a bowl of food out 24/7 for them... Never bother the cat.. some dogs will eat EVERYTHING in site.. Some only eat when they are hungry.. these two eat as the please.
Some dogs eat the poop because it has some protein left in it... Try setting out a small bowl of cat food for the dog to nibble on... ??
