Flatwoods Road - Nancy - Pulaski County - Kentucky Saturday_17-June-2023 Sitting on the Front Porch watching the world go by. https://ibb.co/JwjS0sTd" rel="nofollow">  By the tilt of his head and the fact that about fifty antique tractors are passing by and he isn't looking that way, leads me to think that maybe he has dozed off; I wouldn't want to startle him nor wake him suddenly; he might think he's still in Saigon. I don't see how these people who live here sleep at night; all the loud noisy traffic, semi-trucks rolling through one after the other, sirens, fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars flying past all night long; gang battles and gun-fire; TV News helicopters; all the neighbors lap-dogs constantly yapping; violent domestic disputes, what with all the dishes breaking against the walls; myself, I would seek somewhere with some solitude = a place where if someone was walking along the road in the middle of the night you kept your cross-hairs on him until he was clean out of sight while every hair on your Border Collie was bristling and she was begging you to turn her loose so as to bring back the seat of their pants and maybe a chunk of their A-double-$$. I hauled a lot of, if not all, the rock that went into the development and construction of this place and the mobile home that is next door; in fact, the mobile home was there first by a couple years or so. The hard-luck gentleman is on the South/West shoulder of KY1675, about midway between Sandy Gap Road and Farmer Road, travelling North/Westbound. My father's business was across a side street from a busy International Harvester dealership and I spent about as much time there as I did at our shop. All the guys that worked there wore those International Harvester uniform shirts and matching grey pants; some uniform rental company or other came around weekly and traded clean uniforms for dirty ones. The International Harvester uniforms were of much better quality than the "thin as a nylon baccer canvas" "ice cream britches" Rental Uniforms that we had to wear; although we paid a weekly fee, ours were patches on top of patches and it was hard to tell the clean ones from the dirty ones; to better dissolve the grease and grime, Rental washed them in Kerosene and we all smelled like a big barrel of Kerosene.
