There is an 8070 with a Kinze Planter featured on the cover of the Iowa farmer Today magazine. I just wondered if any of you saw that or if by chance any of you are the proud owner of the tractor.

Saw that. Doesn't that look like a 7080 muffler on it?

Muffler under the hood on 8000 series as said should just be a straight pipe coming thru the hood

Wonder if it could have been a Cummins repowered tractor and that's the reason for the different muffler, been several of them around my area but never paid attention to the mufflers. Good eye there, I had to go for a second glance.

I wonder if they deleted the muffler under the hood and went with a 7080 muffler for the aspirated air cleaner tube. I know on my 8010, the parts man told me that muffler is no longer available.

Thomure? manufacturing made a muffler eliminator for 8000's with aspirator. Have one on an 8070.Can't say it's any noisier than stock muffler in cab. Think they retired/sold to another outfit?

Few years back we had a 8070 purchased the muffler eliminator for it don’t remember where we got it from interesting though at the same time we put a straight pipe on a 4450 JD and the noise on the outside of that JD was significantly higher than the AC both had the curved chrome on them sure miss those tractors both were power shifts
The 4450 went down when my eldest daughter was pulling a 5000 gallon manure tanker and met a car that was traveling to fast for our backroads and she jerked the tranny from 15th to 1st thought she was going to neutral and slid the back tires trying to stop it sent such a shock thru the driveline that it actually broke a valve in the head we had to put a new cam in and went thru the head got it running and then the tranny went down
Sometimes I miss those days we’d run 4 5000 gallon tankers I loved driving that 8070 we sold it when we got out of the dairy business
