Best dual setup is to use another set of the stock wheel assemblies and turn them around backwards with the dish facing out, and bolt them on using a longer lug bolt right to the center hub.  Swap sides with the reversed wheels so the tread points the correct direction.  We ran one for a long time like that with all four tires loaded.  Looks good too.

I run two Power shift wheels back to back for duals on my A-C 715B backhoe. The rims are from D-17IV and the tires are 16.9 x 28. I had to make an axle extention for the backhoe to get the correct offset so I made the hub wide enough for both rims to take the load off the studs. Use it with an 8' stone fork for picking stones on worked ground.

I have a couple pages from the Allis Chalmers serice manual detailing installation of these. I think it was for a D14 but would be the same idea on a 17. It is just like some of the posts are on here with the center hubs front to front with a spacer ring that sits in between the wheel flanges. I will see if I can find it and post it.
