| Rebuilding my Allis Chalmers HD3 Crawler with a D175 motor. Trying to source main bearings for a 0.040 ground journal. Or if anyone knows where to source a crankshaft. Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

Considering how hard parts are to find for those BUDA engines, you might be better to send your crank to one of the places that strokes cranks and have it built up to STD bearings. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

| Thank you, I had considered that but what I have heard is they only want to weld on one journal and not on all five die to heat fracturing. If you have any other ideas or people who I might talk with that would be helpful. I have been working on this project for a number of years with road blocks all along the way. I appreciate any help or ideas. |

I have had many cranks stroked where 4 or more journals were welded on without issues. Find another crank company. ------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

| I'm all for welding a crank for pulling, but never for use in a farm/work application. Diesel cranks are generally harder journals than gasoline engine cranks. Find a different crank or engine. |

What I know about your engine would fit on the head of a pin with room left over for the Declaration of Independence, but I do know that in the motorsports world that folks will often use rods, etc. from other brands of engines and have them modified to fit. If your pockets are deep enough, custom rods can be had (it sure is easy to spend other peoples money)

I have found bearings, but I will not be able to catch a rod journal on my crank at 0.040 undersize. I am now looking for a crankshaft with casting number 4512316 or 74512316 for the D175 engine that can be cleaned up at 0.040 undersize or less. Any help would be greatly appreciated |
