... had a guy ask about putting axle seals in an 8600 Ford tractor - does one have to pull the axle housing or can they be replaced by just pulling the cast iron centers :-(  and drive in from the out side  ????   This is my one allotted Ford question...

I disagree with the above person Steve posted from, like most later Fords the 8600 has a planetary final drive, it and the brakes have to come off to remove axle to access seal, not necessarily hard, but involved and heavy parts
