I have seen a couple at tractor shows... on pre 1940 tractors... always wondered if it was factory, or taken off semi truck.. they were 24 inch..
------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The earlier 1938 tractors had them. I put a link to a picture in the original post.

In my earlier days on the farm, we had a B with a 3 digit serial number that we were very sure was all original when we got it. It had lock ring type rims. One was nearly unusable as it had probably has CaCi in them since new.
------------- If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Keep seeing 2 or 3 piece rims called SPLIT RIMS - They are not , what are called lock ring rim where a outer ring is held onto full width inner rim by a lock ring which is either a 1 or 2 piece fixture held in tire bead area . SPLIT RIMS were 2 pieces and joined in center section of rim by fitting the 2 halves together by deforming one half over other and then locked together with groove area. Bead area of tire fit onto each half with lock at center to join rim to working fixture . Picture shown is a 2 piece rim with split lock ring - rim would have size at bead area the same for inside and outside area to fit tire inner bead diameter . A 3 piece would have slight step down at outer bead area

That is a lock ring wheel. They were used on Dodge/Ford pickups until about 1968 and US military vehicles and International trucks into the 1980s.
Very different than split rim -aka "widow makers"

Agreed - they’re not split rims. I’ve heard them called split bead, split ring, and lock rings, and definitely understand the difference. I called them split rims in the title because that’s how they’ve been discussed on this forum and how they’re often referred to for the B. If they actually did use true split rims on this tractor, I personally wouldn’t even mess with them. This style I can work with, albeit carefully.

I have one complete split rim for a Model B with two sets of brackets to hold it to the center dish. The split rim needs a little welding from 1 thru rust spot. If interested I can bring it to the Orange Spectacular in Hutchinson, MN in July otherwise I work in the cities in MN.
