I’m looking at two different AC 2000 monoframe plows that I would like to purchase (only need one). Both are 4-16’s one has the spring trip bottoms while the other has the hydraulic reset. Trip bottoms I’m familiar with but the hydraulic reset I’m not. Can someone school me on the hydraulic reset? Was it any good? I’ve read that they need to be recharged with nitrogen if it has leaked out, where can I get that done? Anything else I need to watch for? Nether would be put to a lot of work, just a couple acres of popcorn stalks. I’ve got sandy ground that’s got a rocky layer about 12” down. I have a Deere 3-16 trip bottom and as long as I stay above the rocks they’re usually not too much of an issue. I’d be pulling with a D17 or a 190. Thanks

We had one with the hydraulic reset, when we got it the nitrogen charge was fine and we never had a problem with it. It’s just an accumulator that you’re charging so any hydraulic shop should be able to do it.
It was a great, easy pulling plow that did the best job in sod that I’ve ever used, and I’ve used many. The only reason we got rid of it was finding wear parts for it around here at that time was a pain.
We pulled it with a John Deere 2640, 1 dual, and front weights. So not a big tractor by any means.

Ive got a 7 bottom on the land with hydraulic reset. It will hit an obstruction, trip and reset and you will never feel it on the tractor. Plowingest thing i ever saw. I only run it now at plow days

Had both, 3-18 hyd reset, 4-16 spring trip. Never used the 4, the 3 hyd worked great for me but was so well used all the pivot points were wore out, the tip of the lay would go back and forth 3 or 4 inches. I took the 4 and put all the spring trips on the 3 frame, just use it for plow days too, so don't need the hyd reset.
