Greg Davis' 1955 Chevrolet "210" #45 Dirt Track Stock Car

- --- -

She won the "Ugliest Car" award to go with all his Dirt Track Racing trophies.

Contrary to what you may think, she will fire right off and run like a Singer Sewing Machine --- if you're man enough to handle her; driving this thing is not for the timid of heart.

Take note of the "Ton Truck" front spindles and full floating rear axle.

Notice that the chrome rear bumper and bumperettes have survived these threescore and ten years in one of the roughest environments you could subject a car to.

It's a psychological thing...

Just like in everyday driving, when some cell-phone bimbo is coming at you half-lapping your side of the road; if you are driving something clean and shiny, they won't give an inch; as, they instinctively know that you will take the ditch before sideswiping them, even if you are driving a Peterbilt and they are driving a Kia.

However, if whatever you are driving looks similar to Ol' #45, their ingrown sense of self preservation will kick in and they instantly become aware that it wouldn't bother you the least bit to run right over them; so, they will be the one who takes the ditch and they will exclaim "did you see that; he nearly sideswiped me!"

The same holds true on the track = they will tend to stay out of your way.
