Replaced a leaking toilet fill valve today. Pretty easy peasy, but kinda crazy how many different ones the big box store has. Glad I knew which one I needed.

Yeah Jay, I've done the same when we lived out in the boondocks. Now I'm much closer to big box stores. Thanks

I bought one last month that had this litte RED BUCKET under the valve body.. Seems like it is suppose to fill with water and hold the valve CLOSED.. If the toilet drain leaks slowly, the bucket keeps the valve from constantly opening and filling the tank.. When you trip the HANDLE the bucket is attached with a chain and it tips and dumps.. allowing the valve to open and refill the tank..

WORKED LIKE CHIT.... Could not get it set right.. Finally threw away the bucket and just let it work OLD STYLE..... I like these with the vertical float, as compared to the old "arm and ball float"...

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Those early ones we dubbed "Floodmaster" as they had a tendency to pop loose and well you know. I think they are better now but be darn sure the lock ring on the height adjustment is properly snapped in.

Haven't seen a arm and float ball in a long time. Do remember them. I've always had good luck with fluid master. Thanks
