Apparently the game was being played in the Province of Quebec. Things can happen within the Province of Quebec that are not typical of the rest of Canada. I lived there in 1970 when the FLQ (Front de Liberation du Quebec) kidnapped the British Diplomat James Cross and the Quebec Labour Minister Pierre LaPorte. Cross was eventually found in the basement of a house but LaPorte was murdered. Quebec was determined to separate from Canada at the time. Later all English Lanquage signs were banished in the Province. I believe it is still that way today. Apparently everyone knew it would be a thing because the announcer asked that everyone please be respectful during the playing of both teams national anthems. Didn’t work. I can’t say as I’ve ever seen that. Heck we didn’t boo the Soviet anthem back in the Cold War. Save the boos for the team introductions that’s bad enough. |

Yes Ed, it seems that most of our 'Old School' behavior of common Decency and Respect for your fellow Mankind has gone out the window. Just look at what I have to endure from so-called Fellow Members on the Forum. Would you have seen 10 years ago anything even close to the kind of Disrespectful behavior that goes on to-day by a very select few? Hardly Is there any wonder why so many of the more Senior Members have gradually been disappearing from this once Great Forum? For me I think one of the reasons is this growing Disrespectful Behavior. No doubt there are other Personal reasons for some as well. The Unofficial Allis Forum sure isn't what it use to be. FOR ME ANYWAY ! |

I think this FORUM is Fantastic.. Lots of great info and discussion in the Tractor, Shop and Political page.. Problem SOME PEOPLE carry their Hate and Rage from one forum to the next.. To my mind, the Old School of thinking was that respect was earned & not a God given right? Not that one ought to DISrespect someone they don't know, Here Dan when I first started reading your Post I was sure you were referring to Steve(il) because your Statement sure applies in his case. Steve doesn't know me from Adam but from many months back he started fabricating lies about me and continued to do so. I'm beginning to think that Steve is a Transgender Female to Male. I say that because he certainly doesn't have ANY BALLS. He doesn't have THE BALLS to admit he is the one in the WRONG that started with his DISRESPECTFUL POSTS towards me. Like I stated in a previous Post, it all started with my REPLY about his Post on how to replace the Seals in a 400 Series Cylinder. And got worse after my Reply to his comment about the D-10 basically replacing the Model 'B'. Then a few other Members felt compelled to jump on the Band Wagon and throw in their 'Disrespective Comments'. I guess what they don't realize is other Forum Members can read their Posts and form their own opinions about this ordeal. G |

WF you certainly are correct, and I agree 100%. This 'Type' of Post belongs in the 'Political' Section because Disrespectful Posts seem to be the highlight of most of the contributors there. It's in this Section because this is where Steve(ill) started it. As I stated in a previous Post, it all started by 2 of Stevies Post that I pointed out to him that he was wrong. meanwhile.. A Delta jet crashes in Toronto.... flipped upside down while landing on Runway23R, 80 souls onboard ,everyone got out, though 3-6 critical. I suspect a strong gust did the deed. The CRAZY thing is that NONE of the 'reporters', at least early on commented that the plane LOST ALL IT"S WINGS !!! There's a GREAT video (RARE TO FIND...) that shows the landing from the starboard side. He came in 'not quite right', landed 'firm' (aka HARD ), right gear collapsed, rolled over.... I suspect the strong crosswinds and 'pilot error' will be the causes. I used to love doing crosswind landings, 5 decades ago.......It requires a precise timing to fly plane crabbed' just off then runway then a split second later, straighten out and firmly plant it onto the runway.Did all mine in summer, but it's 'fun' on frozen tarmac ! ------------- 3 D-14s,A-C forklift, B-112 Kubota BX23S lil' TOOT( The Other Orange Tractor) Never burn your bridges, unless you can walk on water |

As I say, don't particularly relish bringing this back up, particularly in the open forum (and it would be a sound move if moderators were to move or delete the thread, I agree it doesn't belong here) BUT I have to point out that what you accused Steve of was untrue. Whatever has gone in the past, I don't know nor do I care to look back and find out but as of now you appear to be the one who has "rocked the boat" and told untruths.

Well Lou You put me in a spot. Today I located the 2 Posts by Steve that I have previously stated were the beginning of his disrespectful Posts towards me. They both were posted in the 'Farm Equipment' section and have absolutely nothing to do with any Politics. The first Post was Feb.1, 2023: A new member was asking for help in installing a new Seal Kit in an Allis 400 Series Loader. The second Post was Jan, 27, 2024: It also was a new member looking for a Carb Kit for an Allis 'B'. I am sure Steve(ill) will be more than happy to repost these 2 posts of his along with my original Replies. I was going to repost them myself, but I thought first I would give Steve the opportunity to Reply how these Posts instigated the beginnings of his disrespectful Posts towards me. A Canadian buddy of mine... a Quebeker by birth, living in Ontario, and very neutral on the whole thing asked me: You know what makes Canada and US different eh? We're tractor guys... do WE burn down grandstands when they run out of hotdogs at the county fair? No, we're better than that- there's still nachos and funnel-cakes. Speaking of which, A big scandal came up in the investigations revealing hundreds of cases where politically connected fishing industry were 'buying influence' using seafood, rather than money... It was a clear case of squid-pro-quo... ------------- Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest. |
