Hey guys! My starter motor went on my 185. I pulled it apart and cleaned it up but no luck. It’s a Lucas and I heard they aren’t as good as the Delco starters so I was wondering if anyone knew the part number for a replacement starter? Thanks!

Go to Ebay and get a gear reduction starter; they spin over so good

That's a good price on a rebuilt starter. I remember paying close to that 40 years ago to a local rebuilder.

You can also go to a new "gear reduction" starter.
NipponDenso # 028000-6780. Last I bought was about $375.00
It replaces Delco & Lucas starters on AC 180, 185, 190, 190XT, 200, 7000, 7010, 7020, 8010 tractors.

I have a gear reduction Denso on the shelf if interested.  $350. + the ride. Email me at our email address below.  Count the teeth on your Starter motor.

Thanks guys I’ll take a look! Living in northern Canada sure is a pain getting any parts as shipping is usually atrocious

Go to a local starter and alternator repair shop, they will be able to get what you need.
