acben 20.  Do not do business with this person.  Recently he posted in classifieds wanting to purchase A-C Memorabilia.  We corresponded and made an agreement on some items.  He requested to send a check for payment.  Foolishly I trusted him and shipped the items before I received payment.  Needless to say, payment never came.

acben20 has been around for 15 years and has over 1000 posts.. Very possible his computer crapped out or some  emergency came up... Give him some time and try to send email again...

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

If any of this was through the US Post Office, you could be waiting a while. Don't make a judgment call yet.

I’m dealing with the postal service right now from a close friend I’ve dealt with and known for years. I would recommend a little more patience.

In my job, we have seen many cases there the mail times still can exceed three weeks.  last year i received a christmas card 6 weeks after the postmark date on it.

If you go down in this post, he has a phone number listed.  You might try giving him a call

I have not had any dealings with him, but I know he has been around the forum for good while.  I know I have not heard any complaints.  I would be more inclined to think either the post office is taking its good old time, or that he had something come up.  He is around enough, he may see this post.  I would try giving him a call

I just talked to him on the phone 3-4 weeks ago. He's interested in some stuff I have, said he'll get down this way someday.

I wouldn't trust the mail service either way. Maybe he didn't receive stuff from you or his check didn't make it to you. One or the other could have made a mistake on the address orit is stuck in a machine somewhere. Or a mail truck rolled over on a snow covered road. I know during holidays things get delayed bad. Best thing in these cases is to have a phone number and talk to people in person and follow up.

Patience????
I believe a month is enough.
I agree with Gary's post, "What's your side of the story Ben J ?"

Can go 2 ways - but when I think back know there were a couple from years back that were dependable - then something changed and ended up being new to the dark side .
99% good and somehow ended up as 1% when it came to $$$$

Maybe do not assume that every AC forum member reads every posting? Besides your post’s subject(topic?) doesn’t specify his name, so perhaps he has not read any of this posting?
No offense, just saying?
