Yeah, we are hunkering down here. MODOT has been out in force Beet Juicing every surface can put a truck on, would be fine except temps in single digits.

Supposed to start around our place tonight(Sat), freezing rain, snow, sleet continue that moderately into Sunday where sometime Sun night turn on like a brush fire with snow and sleet. Many companies including my employer notified employees Monday is Closed, perhaps Tuesday.

Low temps, ice build up, frozen materials piles will shut off much trade on outdoor work.

At least the freezing rain is supposed to stay south of us here in this part of Ohio. This is always subject to change

Looking at bare ground , brown grass , couple little piles of snow from where I plowed last year (2 weeks ago) when we had 4'" on ground .
Only thing I can say is Dang it's cold out there now and going below ZERO later .
So got new battery in plow truck but nothing to push around .

Believe it when I see it . I still believe in being prepared. Nothing better to ward off evil spirits is having the blade mounted, plenty of gas and a charged battery . Stay safe and warm my friends.

They're calling for snow on Friday. 1-3 inches. Hopefully enough to sled in. Yeah winters are rough on the pocketbook here. It was about 20 last night and has to stay about 80 in the chicken houses for a few more days. My MIL was right, you grow birds in the summer so you can afford to grow them in the winter. And no Christmas presents from the gas man. But when we call they say "we're on our way!"

Ours went up this year but not that much. I think we paid $1.09/gallon last year and this year is $1.19. We get a price break because of the amount we buy in a year. I think residential price is around $1.49/gallon

The predicted " Storm of the century, Storm of the decade, Storm of the year, Storm of the week" was a big letdown around here. At first there was a prediction the the snow would be measured in feet, then it got to around 9-12" then 6-9". Ended up with just enough to make a mess of things and a bit more than could be ignored, even though the snow started about 1AM Monday morning and it was still snowing at 11PM Monday night.

K C area has 12 inches + or - and the temp is now around zero.  Things are gradually coming back.  Most schools closed thru Wednesday.  3rd heaviest snow in the record books.  I know the truckers have to push it but hard to understand how so many get trapped out there when conditions are obvious. Ice, black ice & hard backed snow will be around for a while, people need to slow down.

Likely got 6-8" total here, but was Ice from Freezing Rain then snowfall a sleet run and then more snow.  Heavy as Mud and wet.

Well aware.

Yesterday went to Audiologist for Hearing aid checks and cleaning, routine except roads, slick spots are really bad, shaded not melting at all yet where melt areas are refreezing at night.  Currently 12F here and all the drive melt is frozen solid.  Headed to work around 6, not planning on actually going anywhere.
