Thought this had all been put to rest as to NOT a health concern yet is not done.

Started in UK as to Mold Issues in re-insulated Older housing, less than sealed outer structure allowed moisture between walls and insulation where is causing the concerns. Seems the insurers and appraisers here are not looking at US application methods or requirements and also trying to ban pr refuse finance or repairs due to a ‘Concern’. WAS next best thing to sliced bread for energy efficiency here, pressed for by the Governing agencies.

Any issues around other regions?

Canada wide here was the 'UREA ' or 'UUFI' ? issue decades ago. 'bad' chemical, can 'offgas' over time. You get house(insulation ) tested, if it passes, NO problems getting coins or selling house.

1st choice should be foam

2nd would be ROXUL ( mice HATE it !!!, waterproof,fireproof( embers in gar fireplaces...)

IMO it's not so much the foam's fault, rather the upkeep of the house it's installed in. If the roof/eaves, window/door frames, flashings and damp-proof course are kept in good repair then there's no way damp is getting in from the get go.

A lot of privately rented houses here are in horrible shape & not water-tight in any way.

Open Cell or Closed Cell - different materials , different uses
Was looking at house done in early 80's that was being remodeled - foam insulation had turned to powder in much of roof area between joists . Walls showed uneven expansion and voids along with powdered areas .
Isonene was said to be the product to use when I took building inspection program back in 2006 . Said to not absorb moisture so shed water rather than hold moisture .
Then was told Norther Company foamed property in Florida for Disney build , vapor barrier on wrong side for climate and major failure of structures for mold and rot .

Cousin was in Insurance and had 3 homes that were totaled in mid 70's from foam OFF GASSING formaldehyde fumes from the products marketed then .
When the product was first used , not full research was done on long term effects , now it seems a lot of research and changes have been made overall in the products used .

yeah Ureaformaldehyde ! 'Ufy' ( you-fee )

If mixed wrong ratio, it'd 'outgas' real bad stuff... up here you could buy 'black listed' houses real cheap..now 'they' don't care.....
