Does the 426 engine suffer the same as a 226 regarding camshaft bearings getting worn and a loss of oil pressure? I would guess probably but don't know.

Well, kind of, but I've never had to replace cam bearings on any 426 for low oil pressure. They are pressure lubed, unlike the 301 that are gravity fed oiling from the rocker arms. The 201/226's have a hollow camshaft that is the main oil galley. None of the newer engines are like that. Your oil pressure should be 35 to 55 psi at full throttle with hot oil working in the field. 45 psi is pretty usual. 35 might have me a bit concerned. 15W-40 oil.
