I've been searching the Internet for a V belt pulley for one of my projects. I came across a number of what looks like pulleys but they are listed as a Sheave. Is there a difference between a pulley and a Sheave?

Depends on what your wanting to power or turn. Yes, there is a difference between a V belt pulley and a sheave. Most sheaves are wider and accept cables or winch ropes, not belts. Some sheaves are carbon fiber, hard plastic, light steel. So be careful when ordering out of a catalog. Stick with the pulley section.
