I just recently purchased this NOS ALLIS-CHALMERS tank heater kit Part Number 9003845 from an old A-C dealer over the phone.  I asked them to check to see if it said ALLIS-CHALMERS on it and they said it did, when I got it today I see it has the sticker on it but the A-C logo is not casted into this one like all the others I've seen.  The kit is complete with mounting hardware, brackets, fittings, instructions and all, I just can't figure out why the A-C logo isn't casted in it?  Maybe it's been repaired once and the one part replaced?  Just curious what you guys think....thanks.

Here's a brochure I have of one with the A-C logo casted into the tank heater.

My guess is they started selling them to other companies other than AC.

This one came from a dealer in Texas I don't remember the town anymore.  It was the last NOS part number on the AGCO parts locater shown being in stock at any AGCO dealer that uploads their inventory on the locater.  I don't know anybody that can fix a broken one.

My guess would be a couple different vendors made the heaters. One vender stamped Allis Chalmers in the unit as per the first AC build specs, and the other didn't. The replacement might have been cheaper to make, and that's the name of the game in mass production. Specs might have be a little different also later on and the decal was used instead.....

Sam,
If I had it in my hands I'd try to see if I could fix it.
