Hey guys, this is something I've not really considered before, but am looking at a 3pt tedder and want to use the 185.  Was told the tedder weighs 2000lbs.  I think it'll be fine, have fluid in front tires, no cast up front.  Looked at the dealer literature from when the tractor was bought new, and it doesnt say..   thanks, Wes

I believe the tractor will pickup more on 3 pt. than that. A lot depends on how far back from lower lift arm pins it's weight is. You may be looking for front weights if it sits back to far.

The lifting capacity in those days was never rated to my knowledge. I guarantee a healthy hydraulic system can lift enough weight on the 3-point to lift the front wheels off the ground and probably even with 500 lbs of suitcase weights installed. These tractors have been used for decades hauling large round balers on the 3-point hitch, but I'd always assume there were front weights involved.

Have a 3008 Bush Hog 3Pt Mounted on my 180D, HAD to ADD a Loader for ballast to keep front end on the ground as the 3Pt will lift whatever is put on it.  The BH weighs 1850lbs.
