I have a d14 in great shape,  Need to change to under tractor exaust for it's current role in an orchard,   Tractor has original manifold and sheet metal.  Any body done this to a D series?

Bought it used in 2014 for sentimental reasons,  I grew up on WD and D series tractors and it has become our favorite light duty machine on the farm when live hydraulics are not needed.  We use it to disc, rake hay, pull a disc hiller and plastic mulch layer, Haul wagons and more.  Just need to get the muffler out of the way of tree branches.

I have made a 90 degree pipe that goes thru the hood to the manifold and attached an oval muffler pointing it straight ahead, keeping it low and close to the hood. This had been on D-15 II with an oval muffler and a low shed to get in and out of. Make it easy to disassemble so you can remove the hood if needed. Done right, the air cleaner stack will be taller than the horizontal positioned muffler.

Did you protect the hood from excessive heat from the muffler?  Did you add a down pipe to get exaust below the tractor?
