I have a 1966 HD3 with 6-way dozer, log jammer with pto winch. Undercarriage is decent, rollers idlers and sprockets are good. Engine overheated and knocks. I would say it needs a cylinder sleeve or two and maybe a piston. The clutches are all good, as is the power director. It just needs an engine repair, or a swapped engine. I like the machine, had it for years. I am now too old to do this kind of stuff. My question is what is it reasonably worth as it sits?

Non-running prices start at scrap. If it is a Buda diesel that makes it harder to repair as parts for Buda are harder to find. Yesterdays Chicago auction will give you an idea.

Prices are dropping on things like that… Due to inflation of parts prices it now makes it not worth much.

I'm guessing it shouldn't be very hard to replace the diesel engine with a gasoline one out of a D15,with as many D15 as there are around with trashed transmissions should be able to find a motor.A little dozer like that would be pretty handy around the farm.Just picking a number out of thin air I'd say at least $1,000.
