Picked this up last week out of KY. I’ve never been able to find a barn find before. It resided in a open front shed it’s entire life. Original owner tractor purchased new in 1959 with a 2 bottom slat plow and Oxford rear blade. Sheet metal is in excellent condition with no pitting or dents. Grill and shroud are in pristine condition. Missing the left rear running light but I have one in my spare parts box. Rear fender has a small dent down below the top lip. Also some cracks around the 3 mounting holes. Easy repairs. No slop in the peddles and they have most of their grips still there. Not a gear jumper and the PD has great snap into low and hi range. Runs great, no smoke. Tach delete tractor so hours are unknown but I have no doubt this is a low hour tractor. Drawbar has a little bit of wear but not much. Even came with 2 brand new front tires because he said they only hold air for a few days. Needs a new steering wheel and a set of plug wires. I received a new set of plug wires from Steve Saturday and plan to put those on tomorrow. Thanks Steve and JoAnna for the quick turnaround!!

Congrats on the new tractor! It looks like a good one! What are your plans for it? We like the D14 we have, just don't get it out much.
Regrads,
 Chris and Cheryl

It will be a hay rake tractor and small job tractor. My main reason for it is it’s a 1959 3 bar grill(black bar) just like my 1959 D17 diesel. I plan to do a make over at some point after using it for awhile to see if it needs anything besides the obvious steering wheel, running light, and plug wires. For some reason it was missing the right brake rod? Not sure why, but wanna make sure it doesn’t have a brake problem on that side. It may have a pinion seal leak on that side as a saw a few drops of oil from that area. Not a big deal as I went through both sides of my D17 and it’s not a terrible job. I just couldn’t pass this one up even though it was a 16 hr round trip. Factory 12V which is great.

Robbie I like your D 14. I've got a late 59 too. But not a survivor like yours.  Your going to like how good they are on fuel, and so quiet.   Tim

Thanks Tim. I’ve tried for 5 years to find our fathers D14 that he traded in for a new 6060 in1982 at our local dealership. Always liked it, even though it was 6V it always started quickly. This one being a factory12V is even better. The black bar grill model to match my D17 has been in my search since I purchased my D17 black bar 2 1/2 years ago. And your right, very quiet even at wide open throttle. Having fun tinkering so far and learning more about it.

Thanks, I’m gonna do some polishing to see if I can get some of the paint to come back? Any recommendations?

He also had 1957 D14 at some point. That tractor had been sold at some point. The side covers had been removed on both tractors at some point on the left side. Mixed up the side panels and I have the side panel on the left side that has the D14 decal on it. Not a big deal, as I plan to paint it next year. Very happy with it so far. Just need for it to stop raining so I can work on it some more. It’s under a tarp temporarily outside of my shop.

Got to spend a few hours tinkering today. Removed the front lights so I can sandblast them on Monday. Want to paint those before I haul it to the Heritage Festival next weekend. Removed a side panel broken bolt and rethread all side panel holes while I had the side panel off. Cleaned the air cleaner, man that oil bath had really collected some dirt since its last oil change. Probably a 1/2” of grime in the bottom. I think they work well. Installed new plug wires and intake hose. Just a few things to do before I think it’s field ready.

Really nice looking tractor. D14 was the second allis I added to my collection, 30+ years ago. Used it quite a bit this summer. Really like it. Darrel

I'm jealous you landed yours with a plow! This year, I'll either be plowing with the heavily modified Power King and 12" Brinly again, or using my new-to-me D14 narrow front (just a few days before you got yours) with a Dearborn 2 bottom, 3-point plow.
