All, I have a 65' Allis Chalmers 190xt which I have been doing a lot of mowing/ bush hogging with. My cutter is a 3pt attached mower. Can anyone tell me how to set the lift to a static height? I am wearing myself out raising it to avoid obstacles and then fighting to get it back to the correct cutting height. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks much.

One of the two rear levers on the console is a "Position Control" lever that sets the minimum height for the 3-point hitch arms. Looking at the paint job, I imagine there aren't any decals on those levers. If the position Control linkage isn't froze or broken, it will do exactly what you want and still allow you to raise to go over things and lower right back down to the height you desire.

Thanks so much Doc, I was not sure how to get it adjusted. I will see if it is connected and works.

If you had an operators manual and had also read and understood it along with the manuals pictures, you would know how all of your tractor's functions were operated.

-------------
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

The position control should be the rear lever closest to seat. The other lever is Traction Booster/draft control.
Run tractor with 3 pt lift arm lever. FYI lever has 4 positions; 1 lift, 2 hold, 3 T B, 4 lower.
Run tractor, set 3 pt lever in "TB" position. Move Position Control lever (rear LH) to get mower set at desired height. Leave the T B lever (rear R H) in its furthest down position. After that run tractor with 3 pt. lever in T B position while mowing, use the 3 pt lever to raise and lower as needed.
