I found this photo of an A-C railcar in a 1956 copy of Trains Magazine recently.  I wondered if anyone else had ever seen this?  I imagine this car has long gone to the scrap yard.  Cool pic tho!  Sorry for the lousy sizing of the photo.

That's a neat find. I'd bet you're right and they were scrapped long ago, sadly.

Yes, purpose-built for that function, once the condensers were all shipped, there was no need for the chassis, they would have pulled the bogeys and couplers, and turned the frames into reusable raw materials.

I saw the trapezoid trailer setup too—looks like they used it to handle the overhang of the bigger models. I've only seen a couple like that in old dealer photos.

Most impressive! Thanks everyone for posting photos & links about it. In JayD-17(NY)’s link, it says this AC rail car had a 12’ width which is about 2’ beyond normal car’s width of around 10’. Most standard rail gaps(space between track pairs) is 14’ centers. So if 2 of these 12’ cars would have passed next to each other(switch/rail yards with multiple tracks) there would have been around 12 inches gap between them.
