Right hand fuel tank on our 8010 sprung a leak during planting.  I drained the remaining fuel and plugged the hose that connects it to the main tank.  Agco dealers used to have a repair kit, was wondering if anyone had ever used it to repair a small leak?

I just went through the same thing on our 8050. The later 8000s had a used “U” shape iron that ran down the side of the tank. This holds the tank wall straight up and down instead of letting it bulge out towards the tire. I spaced my tire out one hole.

I found a two-piece putty at our local hardware store. I clean the outside of the tank as best I could and buffed it up a little with sandpaper. You work this putty in your hand until the inside putty mixes with the outside putty. I applied half of it over the whole. And then embedded some plastic screen that I have. Then I put the other half of this putty mixture over the top of the screen. I let it sit for a few days before putting fuel back in it. So far, it’s holding. Best of luck.

I just had the tank off my CA while replacing the water pump and doing a valve set and when I went to put it back on discovered I now had a hole where it sits on one of the mounting pads after disturbing it. I used Permatex Cold Weld epoxy (just another version of JB Weld) No more leak.

I've also successfully used it on aluminum fuel tanks on my big rig.

I have successfully used it to repair leaks in 8000 series fuel tank. Followed the instructions, and have never had a failure.
