As a young teenager I remember putting this hay in the barn. We had just rebuilt the barn floor and re-supported the floor joist as they were broken and sagging.

That was when I was a young teenager. 61 now so maybe closer to 50 year old hay.

Anyway most strings were broken so the hay had to be removed, so rebaled and will re-purpose it for winter livestock bedding. It was a miserable job in that barn with 45 year old hay dust.... But it is rebaled and stored .
And
This year's first cutting put in its place.

Nothing like the feeling of fresh hay in the barn.

How many re-bales did you get?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

120 bales...

We ran the baler with a D10 up in the barn....

Pretty sure if I drove the 185 in there, we would be driving it out the ground floor ....

Sounds like a bank barn. I wouldn't think it could be used as hay, maybe bedding.  How much dust?  Anyway, it's no longer a problem.

Man I'll bet that was dusty.
Probably less of a fire hazard as well.
