What makes a zero turn mower want to whine-chatter sound when first moving full pedal either direction? Could it have air in the hydros? How do you get it out? Thanks, Tracy

Indicates cavitation at the hydro pump, check oil level, filter, hoses...Wink

What model and serial number Jacobson? Ransomes/Jacobson use many hydrostatic drive vendors.

It is a Jacobsen 445g Turfcat. I think mid 90's about 1000 hrs. Has separate pump for  hydro and engine driven off crank for blades. Thanks, Tracy

Either "Tough Torque", or a "Hydreco" hydrostatic drive pump from the sounds of it.

Need serial number to drill down for correct machine. 2WD, or 4WD? Ford gasoline engine?
