The neighbors cut hay but put it to silage. 3 solid days of trucks racing by the house. Field to bunkers. I'd like to cut some but rain is looking likely

This spring here, has been wetter than average. The closest ‘large city’(Abilene) the NWS is reporting 1.77” above average, so far this year. Given the last several years of much drier than normal weather, although 1.77 is not a large amount, for this region it’s a remarkable turnaround.
------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Been enough 2-4" rains for the last weeks that Silage and Hay has come in Surprisingly Heavy. Our renter baled their neighboring farm of Wheat for Silage for their sheep, was on it Friday, had baler issue, fixed yesterday and now all those round bales are wrapped and line a fence row.
Several have already set fresh bales in bale shelters as took so little time to achieve dry.

3"+ here, in the last few days. Farmer got his corn in over the weekend (planting at like 15mph!). East 1/4 of the field is under water now. Drain tiles flowing, creeks overflowing. Sun came out for a bit. Rain and tornado watch now. Dang!

200Tom1, how close were you to the tornado on Tuesday? Hoping you were safe. I Can't remember if you're in Greenfield or Winterset area. My place between Elk Horn, Avoca & Harlan, IA. got wind and rain this week, 4.5" Monday night & 60 mph gusts also another 1.75" Tuesday evening. First washed fields here in about 4 years.
