Just aquired a 1977 7000 and already wondering about how to fix a few things. Cab fan doesn't run... Switch doesn't turn. Fan turns stiff. Do you take the cab roof off to access it?
Wiper control switch doesn't move and neither does the heat control.
Cab heater is right in front of the air filter. Looks like made out of aluminum. No air-conditioning on the tractor. Heater vent covers are missing too.
Wiring is a bunch of messed up wires and missing wires too... Will probably need a diagram of that.
Hand throttle was messed with too. Hard to move, somebody put a steel wire mesh under friction pad and cranked it down ... without any support from backside nor any friction disk there. When throttling up or down, the assembly was flexing under there so I did some cleaning under there and sprayed some solvent to remove rust and likes. now it doesn't stay in the upper position but at least the lever moves a little easier... which the linkage goes down to the foot throttle and that has a heavy spring there and takes a lot of pressure to hold it down. Almost like somebody fitted it with a heavier spring than what I think it suppose to have had. and like the upper assembly, the foot throttle assembly also gets tweaked quite a bit, goes back to too tight of a spring?
Which leads me to ask, has anyone moved the hand throttle down to the console? Sure miss the convenience like it was on the 190/200 tractors. Now for the shift stick, has anyone set the shift stick over to the left side (quarter turn it) to get it out of the way for the feet? Was looking at the cab some and wondered if anyone ever cut the upper right side panel /glass opposite of the door and put it on hinges to open for more air? (Thought about taking the whole panel and frame it and make a door there but no room between steering wheel, brake pedals and hyd controls levers to get in or out on that side. ) Drove it on blacktop and was watching the center rib of front wheels getting scuffed off, need to set the toe-in on it. What is the alignment 1/8th or 3/16th " on the front side? Thanks
