I've read manuals, I've asked questions and I'm not terribly stupid........BUT

I have been fussing with the air and gas needles on my WC Zenith carb for a while now and I think I have found the sweet spot, or it at least seems that way.  I'm not very close to what has been recommended to me.  Someone, awhile back, mentioned that my WC looks like it has been upgraded to a WD head.......just what does this mean? and could that be the reason that my carb settings don't "fit" the program?  What exactly am I looking for to identify the mods that maybe took place on this engine and carb?

I'm open almost 3 turns on the gas needle and almost two on the air.  This tractor is new to me and I think the previous owner has been in there in a good way.  She runs real well and has a real good snap to the exhaust tone.

I'm actually very happy with the tractor I'm just a bit puzzled by these settings.

Thanks in advance,

Bruce in Saint Ignace

As far as I know there are no "settings" for a carb, only starting points. The starting point is just to get it running.
The tall head came out late in WD production and shouldn't have any effect on your carb settings.

Tractors vary, differant degrees of worn out, differant brands of fuel, differant brand or heat range on spark plugs, differant timing , valve settings, I think you think too much...LOL  Gary
