Thats a 78. Brought good money compared to the other rakes at that auction

78 has the bent rear axle like that. 77 is straight across on the back with the same length frame on both sides.

Paid more than I wanted to but the sale is only 10min. From my house. Doubtful I'll ever find one closer! Looking forward to hay season!

Plan is to add it to our collection but also make it work. We have about 20 acres of hay. Should work nice behind our wd45!

I always thought it would be fun to have a snap coupler version of that rake(though i bet the pull behind model does a better job) seen pictures in the "bible" but never one in the flesh

dr p, those rakes are rare. Heard about one at an auction I didn't get to attend once. IH made a Fast-Hitch model, those are rare also. Buddy of mine has an IH one.

I have a 78 but it's kind of rough. It's on my project list for after I retire!

We had a 78 rake like that when I was a kid.  I raked a lot of hay with it.  Very good rake!

HAHAHA......   I've got a 77 in the weeds at the farm and I've been gonna fix it up "one of these days".  The front of it got run over by a crawler.....
