HELLO
I'VE GOT A 175 GAS REPLACED THE CARB. HAD NO LUCK REBUILDING ORIGONAL ,CONVERTED TO ELECTRONIC IGNITION , FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T GET THIS TRACTOR STARTED.
I'VE GOT A BUDDY THAT PICKED ONE UP THAT HAD BEEN SITTING UP FOR 6 OR 7 YEARS AND HAS POINTS , PUT GAS AND A HOT BATTERY AND SHE STARTED RIGHT UP.
AS LONG AS WE'VE BEEN HAVING THAT TRACTOR SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MOTHER TO START , TURN ,TURN,TURN, A LITTLE CHOKE  THEN SHE WANTS TO FLOOD OUT AND IF SHE'D START YOU'D HAVE TO HOPE SHE'D STAY RUNNING TILL SHE'D WARM UP, AT THIS POINT I SWARE I'D SELL IT FOR SCRAP.  ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECAITED

Have you made any checks on compression or ignition?  Sometimes its more than 1 problem...

If you have spark and gas.......... i would check the TIMING... Several degress off will make them HARD to start. ...... could be the point slipped or burnt contact and that changed the timing.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Check the voltage while the starter is turning. Electronic ignition needs 12 volts to fire. If your voltage drops while the starter is turning it will not start.

"Borrow" a known good-starting carburetor from a WD45 or D-17 and try it on this hard starting engine. Still doesn't start good, it ain't the carb.

How old are the spark plug wires and what brand spark plug are you using?
