Snapped a spindle on my D17 S2 the other day.  Any tips/tricks to getting the steering arm off?  Really don't have access to heat.

If it were mine I would grind off the bottom, remove the remaining spindle from the top. Set it in a press or support it so you can hammer the the rest out. I have the knee assembly on the shelf and would just replace the assembly. It gets easier when you drag home parts tractors.

Remove the knee and turn it upside down and drive downward with a 20 lb or more sledge hammer. Solid blocking is important for a good hard hit.
