Just saw a warning before an episode of Bananza that said "this program contains outdated cultural descriptions viewer discretion is advised."

This reminds me of an old saying that is very true

Hard times make hard men
Hard men make easy times
Easy times make soft men
Soft men make hard times

Have seen that "warning" on other old programs too, especially westerns. How would they choose to depict an event that happened years ago? Suppose if you add some sex and long haired wise acker western looking dudes with long coats and cussing it would be more realistic? Somehow I'm sure "they" could ruin a good  old story. Most of our TV watching is around pre-1965 stuff. Guess I'm getting old.
Your old saying is true. I am reading a rather long book about Theodore Roosevelt. TR's father supported / started young men's organizations, like the YMCA and others, that promoted Christian principles and physical fitness. He, and later Teddy, wanted to create manly men. Bet they'd have a fit over a lot of today's youth and the male images that are promoted  on many of the TV advertisements.

I try to think of it as their figurative middle finger to cancel culture.

Southpark has done it for years. Their whole gig has been "if you're offended by something you were warned about, and watched anyways, that's a personal problem, and we won't stop airing it."

I bet they'd run out of letters before they got through the warning. Although he is a black hero so there may not be a warning at all!
