| Came across a AC silage blower in the hay loft in an oldtimers barn this weekend. Half buried by hay, hard to assess condition, but what I saw looked good...The owner was interested in selling.. Eastern Ohio |

I have seen some on the smaller side. Always wanted to get one and rotate the chute 90 to 100 degrees to pull around the yard for a leave blower! ------------- D14, D17, 5020, 612H, CASE 446 |

| If it has a 60" fan with a double chain with crossbars feeding an auger that feeds directly into the fan, I would have to say you have found the best blower ever to be on our farm. It was the first silage blower we had and we had no idea how good it was till we traded it. Have had three others since and none of them handled silage as fast and easily as the AC blower did. I do not know/remember what the model number was. |

I did not realize that some of the old ones also cut the silage until recently. I remember the small blowers when I was young that fed from a long table that looked like the ones they call ensilage cutters. When I was real young I watched em rake the cut silage from the back of wagons into that trough and it just fed in that way. Did they remove the cutting feature after field choppers came out or were those built different?

| I purchased a new AC blower with 60'' fan ans chain web in the 70's. It worked fine on corn but it would not blow Alfalfa peroid. Had the dealer out a couple of times and we gave up on it. Bought a Kools blower and it worked great. Thj only piece of Allis I was totally dissative with although we bought a 3-16 plow new and it worked but not as good as I thought it should. Later bought an oliver plow 4-16 semi-mount and loved it. Maybe I just got a couple of lemons. I love Allis but every thing they sold wasn't the best. |

Yeah I never see those types anywhere. Did AC make one? My dad had a IH silage blower that also chopped. We blowed it to a pile on the ground. We cut up the sweet corn stalks and unpicked corn and fed it fresh. I remember the cutter housing was stainless. Driven by belt on the Super C. Kinda neat to watch and feed it.

I am pretty sure the old blower on the farm was AC, it had a raddle chain feed like an elevator and some small metal wheels over the feeder just ahead of the blower opening to help prevent big slugs from jamming it up. I remember because it was folded up by the silo most of the year.
