So the muffler on my WD is loose and loud!   The bracket on the side of the manifold wasn’t holding much so I removed it and was going to replace it. My question is, is that bracket the only thing that holds the muffler in there? Looking on line I don’t see any kind of an exhaust donught/gasket.

There was more than one type of manifold for a WD and each one had its own muffler. Pics needed.

.

I ordered a WD 45 manifold (actually seems to have replaced both WD and WD45) off yesterdaystractors along with a muffler.

The new manifold was designed for better air flow so in theory you'll get a little HP increase.

The manifold had a screw in pipe and the muffler shingled over it. The bracket style risks more water intrusion than this replacement.

Be sure to get the manifold to engine bushing kit.

And I got a flapper top for the muffler. I still put a can over it when it sits for a while.
