On the throttle linkage on my D17 series 4, right underneath the gas tank, there is a small rod that comes forward that on the end has an end with a ball joint on it, that snaps into a socket piece for the next series of the linkage. this ball and socket piece is worn out and the ball falls out of the socket. I looked page by page under AGCO's online parts catalog, and could not find it listed on there. I was wondering if anyone knew if these two parts were available yet, or where I could go to find them. I would like to get this fixed before winter as the baler wire that was holding it doesn't let it pivot good, and I don't want it to be broken in the middle of winter as I use this tractor to clean the driveway. I will try to take a picture of the two pieces and post on here.

I had one of those on my Case 830 . I took it off and put it in a vice and used a small punch and hammer to close the hole around the ball. My D17 is held togather with baleing wire also, has been good for years.

I bought one from my AGCO dealer a couple years ago. I'll look for a part number...

Thanks Russ, I used the number and it pulled it right up. Now at least I can call and gasp when they tell me how much it will be!! That is if it's still available.

I got 2 of them a year ago from my AGCO dealer. $11.24 each. I thought that was a pretty good price.

Mc-Master Carr has them for like $4-$5. Thanks for reminding me to put that on my next order. Mine came apart on my Series III D17 a couple months ago and I did exactly what Matt MN did to patch mine back together. He's a link to page at McMaster-Carr. Mike

Also reminds me I have to measure the ball joint ends on the steering drag link on my Allis 716H mower and get them too at Mc-Master Carr - same page. It too came apart about the same time!
