F2'S CHANGED IN 1980 - ALL I have seen were black - very few made before 1980?

My N5 is serial number 1314 and has the orange engine. I picked up another 426 N5 engine and it is black. I always assume the orange one was a replacement. also picked up a R5 combine.. the 426 has windows on both sides the block at the number one rod. So I should be looking for a late model block 2 replace that? Thanks everyone. Dale

Orange meant 1979 or older in age. Black was 1980 or newer. Roosa master injection pump was 1981 or older. Bosch inj pump was 1982 or newer. All N-5-6's had 7080/7580 counterbalanced crankshafts with a fluid filled front damper, NOT a rubber damper. Combine crank pulley also unique with dbl belt fan drive and one belt water pump/alt drive.

Thanks doc. That exactly describes the situations that I am seeing. And the fluid damper is that other on going discussion in another post? Thanks. Dale
