Hi everyone,
I know this is a can of worms but I need new tires for an 806 Farmall. I just bought the tractor off my Great Uncle who bought it new back in 1967.
So radials or bias is kinda the main question I got a quote for new tires and the radial are about $400 more a tire. The quote is for Alliance tires made by Yokohama. I know Firestone are considered the best by many but are just out of budget right now. They are 18.5-38.
The tractor is going to be my primary tractor. Some tillage work(disc, chisel plow), three point no-till drill, round balling (little raking), and then as a loader tractor to move and feed bales. ( I know the shifting isn't the best for loader tractor). I will be doing some road driving between field on black top but not more than probably 5 miles at a time. I have no intention of getting rid of this tractor anytime soon so what something that will last.

Just bought two new sets of Firestones in the last couple months, both bias. For what the machines will do the tires will outlast me by a bunch. I wouldn't spend the extra $800 for your purposes.

J71, when I was in the tire business years ago, Alliance was made in Israel. They were ok. I put them on several of my tractors. If I were you, I'd put Firestone bias ply on your 8. In the past they would outlast the Alliance.

Firestone. If you want or need economy, maybe BKT.

You will only buy them ONCE! Don't skimp. Radials may not be needed for what you're doing. Think the F/stone bias would suit you.
