Found another goodie. These shots are of Davarn Hardware,
otherwise known as Davern Equipment, which had been an Allis Chalmers dealer from about 1932 until 1986. My WD45 was purchased here in 1957. This aerial shots are from 1968 and I believe 1982 respectively. This building is now occupied by the fire department.

Looks like a fairly typical Mom and Pop farm implement business from my time and location too. Notice the One-Seventy gas and One-Eighty diesel sitting out front in the 1968 picture. Also, the A-2 combine that can't fit inside the shop door. And more than ten years later, looks like not much has changed as far as building or property size capabilities. Looks like they did add on to the far end of the right side some more shop room, but A-C didn't understand, in the end, that would be one of the things that doomed them: not a strong and growing dealer organization. By this 1968 time frame, all the International dealerships in my part of the world were in "brick" buildings with much larger multi-stall service facilities. Deere dealers were similar. A-C wasn't thinking ahead near far enough business wise. The newer pic is from 1982 or newer, as there is an 8000 series tractor sitting on the left of the 7000 series. Nice pics. Thank you.

The top picture reminds me of my dad and uncle's dealership.  Except we didn't have as much hay and forage equipment as in your picture.  We just didn't have much call for that type of AC equipment in our area.

Noticed that too. There are actually a couple 8000 series tractors in the 2nd picture.

Dr Allis, thank you, I had questioned that myself, but the film real album said 78 so I went with it. Only a couple more years and Davarn would close it's doors for good.
