Thought this was neat. I found this vintage aerial shot of the Harold Cook farmstead just outside of Pewamo, Michigan circa 1968. Harold farmed some 100 acres with a 1957 Allis Chalmers WD45 and a Ford 801, both of which he bought new.

My grandfather bought the Allis around 1981, and in this 1968 shot, it can be seen sitting just behind the machine shed lower center of the photo.

Sure would be neat to meet remaining family and see if they still have any old photos.

The same tractor, today. I live about 5 miles from it's original home!

That's pretty neat. I've spent hours looking at the photos on the site. It's neat to see what the area looked like years ago.

What I find most interesting, is the house in the photo. It is the EXACT same design except the small addition on the rihgt is different. Around here, is not a common farmhouse design like that wiht the full 2 stories.

Here is a shot of the same house today. It is rather unique to the area. The barn the tractor is sitting in front of in the vintage photo still stands, and recently got a new foundation poured underneath. I believe the tractor was sitting in that barn for a couple of years before grandpa bought it all those years ago. He didn't know it then, but it started my life long obsession with Allis Chalmers

What was it like the day this WD45 showed up at this farm. What is the tractor driven home or was it hauled and unloaded? How many times was this tractor driven back-and-forth across this very farm? There is a lot of untold history in your pictures.

I always think about that when I'm going through the area. Try to picture it pulling the semi mounted plow and all crop combine. All the years it hauled wagon loads of grain up and down M21. Then after grandpa acquired it, all the loads of fire wood, all the acres bush hogged and all the snow moved with the loader he had on it. The history of this tractor is rich with fond memories and stories I was told growing up. It has been a HUGE part of my life and taught me a lot about respecting equipment and maintaining it. My wife and I are moving into a new house, and it will resume it's chore status once again.
