Just picked up a couple Model 77 row units. I was going to try and fumble something together to make a 2 row on a 3pt. I have the manual on order but found this site while researching. I know I will be needing plates, and grain hoppers. Can anyone point me in the right direction for aftermarket/used/off brand that will fit? If I can figure out the picture upload I’m trying to get a picture of the plates. Most likely bean as they’re 140 population but I can’t seem to find any pictures of the 77 plates that are similar. I’m not a purest by any means so if anyone has advice to include building brackets and duct tape I’m interested.

| There was a cover on the plates, I’ve heard that maybe a Deere plate with an adaptor may work? |

| There are several guys on here that have a lot of NOS AC parts including planter parts. I was able to find some pieces for a neighbor a couple years ago. Good luck and welcome to the forum! |

| Those are soybean plates. Corn plates will also be green in color with only one row of pockets instead of four rows. At least three corn plate sizes. Noihing John Deere works on an Allis Air-Champ planter. That row unit is missing the "shoe runner" that goes behind the double disc openers and makes the seed bed. It is USELESS as it is. |

 Thank you sir, I believe three of the 4 units have the shoe runner you speak of. Once I get the manual I’ll be going through with a fine tooth and seeing what parts are needed. Just off the bat I know I’m looking for plates and a way to get a grain hopper. |

Any AIR hopper will work - 77,78 and the fiberglass off a PLATE unit will bolt on You do know this is an AIR unit correct - you will have to have the blower system or make one. You have to have 2" water columns of pressure. We might have a few plates left. ------------- When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money.. |

| Yes sir, figured out it’s an air unit, currently trying to figure that all out. Was going to try and rig something VERY simple. Even if it’s not the best, I’m only trying to do a couple acres a year with it. |

| They do not take much air at all to hold the seeds in the plate. Too much air and you will get multiple seeds stuck in the seed pockets. Kinda need a gauge for the pressure |

| When using the electric motors/fans/fan housings A-C provided, there was seldom any air pressure issues. If you hooked up the two wires backwards and the motors ran backwards, you had waaay less air and could have problems. No air pressure gauges were ever provided with these air units. |
