Very dry hard track, wind was brutal this weekend.

Dr Allis you are correct it would have spun out in hi range, my mistake to think with the hard track that maybe a slower wheel spin may have gotten me a little farther. Really pleased with the power it made in 2nd hi. Oliver 88 with 38” rears got me.

If you're pretty sure it can handle high second, use low third. It is 5% slower than high second and gains you just a little bit more HP with 5% slower gearing. Low third was always my plowing gear with the governor tweaked so the engine made full load at 1850-1900 RPM.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. Track was hard packed clay due to high winds that dried it out. I still think even in ideal track conditions she would have kept the rpm up. I appreciate the tip.
