I just purchased a series IV D17 and it is my first restore.

1.  Oil leaks on the right side where the PTO lever comes out and possibly from where the foot clutch shaft comes out.  What is involved in fixing this?
2.  Oil leaks at the rear of engine.  How do I tell if it is the pan gasket or the rear seal?
3.  I need the bracket that attaches to the steering column and hold the back of the gas tank down; anyone have one?

Thanks so much,

1.  Clutch shaft will never leak - no seals.  PTO seals are known for leaking.  Remove the inspection plate on the right side, pound out the roll pin that the PTO lever attaches to, pull out the handle, replace the o-ring, then put it all back together.  Tough part is playing with the roll pin!
2. Remove the clutch inspection plate on the bottom of the torque tube.  Stick your finger up there - if it feels oily, your rear seal is gone.  If not, it's probably your oil pan gasket.
3.  Can't help you with that.
