Where’s the best time lace to buy a tuneup kit for my I600? I assume it’s the same as a D15? I need points, condenser, cap and rotor. Possibly a coil? Will start and run for a few minutes then start sputtering. Very rusty inside the distributor . I cleaned everything up but it still dies out after a little bit. Points look wore out and condenser is very corroded and rusty.

Napa? That's where I get Echlin brand ignition parts.

Would be a great time to go with a Pertronix ignition and not t have to worry with finding a good set of points, condenser, or coil. If you do make sure you go with the matching plug wires. For a little more money you will have a better starting and running tractor. My brother switched our D15 over to it and it runs so much better.

I would make sure your fuel system is in good shape first - no crud in the tank or carb. Shouldn't need a coil, but I would go with plugs and wires if they look old.

| I checked out the fuel system. Pulled the carb drain and let some gas flow. Keeps a steady stream and looks clean. If I let it set a few minutes it starts and runs perfect for a couple minutes then quits. Let it sit and same thing. Change me doesn’t help or change the situation.

sounds like a bad condenser... but a coil is also a possibility..
------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Dies it still require the old coil?

If I remember right, pertronix needs a coil with 3 ohm resistance... look it up for sure on their website, I'm sure they have one...

As far as I know the old coil can still be used but when I did my upgrade I went to a matching Pertronix coil.
