What’s the secret to putting a lightbulb into a rubber mounted stadium light?

Patience and good lighting in the work space, a small flat screwdriver, a bit of cussing the engineer that developed the stupid concept then put the bulb in the rubber mount first, there is a flat notch on the bulb that lines up with a cutout in the rubber mount, then grab the ladder and proceed to the light bar, hook up the wires to the bulb then you will see the metal cup has 3 or 4 slots cut into it that the "dogs" we'll call them on the rubber mount go into, work them into place 1 at a time with the screw driver while continuing to cuss a bit. I remember putting them things back in after having them bounce out while disking over chisel plowed ground years ago, never come out during the day but wait till you need them at night and there they go. They sure do dress up a 7000 series tractor though. Easy way out would be to go to Larsen Lights and order up a set of LED replacement lights, I have put them on a R62 and several tractors. The folks there are good to work with.

I use soap for lube, it will eventually dry so as not to collect dust

Use rubbing alcohol on rubber to make it slippery; it dries out quickly and won't attract dirt. Works great on rubber tubing, etc.
