My pump leaks from the plate of the D adjusting screw and also from the screw threads.

The four 1/4 bolts look like they would hit the bell housing before coming out to remove the plate and replace the gasket. Does anyone know if this plate and screw can be removed without taking out the pump

Take pump out and rebuild it. New check ball springs, o rings, gaskets, and a good cleaning. Most likely been 60 years of good service. MACK

I have heard that taking the pump out going down is easier. Do you know anything about that ? Can the whole assembly be kept together including the control assembly ?

If I wanted to send it out for rebuilding as you suggest, who would be the best. I live in Wisconsin.

Sandy Lake can rebuild it. You can rebuild it yourself if you have a service manual and are mechanically inclined.

Before you remove the pump, do yourself a big favor. Put a gauge on the remote outlet and see what pressure you're getting. You want 3000-3500 PSI.
This will give you a look into what needs done on the pump.

Thank you for the response.

Perhaps you or another WD affectionado could advise on something else.

The shaft that the wet clutch operatingh arm is fastened to has a leaking seal. However the operating lever arm is permanently fastened to the shaft for some reason instead of being clamped. I want to cut or grind this lever off so I can just slide the seal out and replace it then either clamp or weld the lever back on. This would be alot better than pulling the whole unit apart to get the shaft out. Has anyone a comment on this ?

Remove top cover under battery, place jack under belly, remove right frame, remove setscrew on inside fork, and remove shaft. MACK
